Fani Willis Fulton County District Attorney has received the green light to continue leading the Georgia election interference case, provided special prosecutor Nathan Wade steps down.

While appeals are anticipated, prosecutors and the judge can now refocus their efforts on advancing the case toward trial. While four defendants have already pleaded guilty, a trial date for the remaining defendants is yet to be scheduled. Judge McAfee faced the challenge of managing a complex array of over a dozen defendants, their legal representatives, and the former president’s packed legal calendar.
Recognized for her adept courtroom abilities and adept use of Georgia’s racketeering law in prosecuting intricate criminal networks, Fani Willis steered the case through extensive investigation by a special panel to a grand jury. This culminated in a comprehensive indictment of 19 individuals last August.
